The buyers’ lender determined the house was in a flood zone. A lengthy call to FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) made it perfectly clear. If their map said we were in a floodplain, then we were. Pay for flood insurance, unless we could prove otherwise. So a month later we proved by survey ½ of Ham Lake and city hall would be under water before this house would flood. The FEMA map was amended. One more transaction saved.
