As so often happens, a previous buyer of one of our listings called: “I’ve got a new job in California and need to move.” Knowing the house and the market, I said, “No Problem! 60-90 days and we’ll have you, your family, and your equity on the west coast.” Two weeks later, the client called from California. He said, “I want the house sold by Friday, so I can make an offer on another.” I responded, “Okay, we’ve had 3 showings. I’ll dangle a price reduction and encourage offers.” Within 3 days we had two offers, one acceptable as written.
