When we went to purchase our first home (back before Google existed) we figured the first step was to pick a realtor so we started with the Yellow pages (you young ones will need to google what yellow pages are), but there was just so many that it was too overwhelming and we gave up. Not too long after I happen to be throwing out the 100 billion items of junk mail I received one day and I saw a name that looked familiar and what do you know, we went to school together. I can’t say we were exactly friends, but we could pick each other out of a crowd. I was told not to ever pick a realtor that you are friends with or a family member, but boy was that terrible advice, I’m so glad I didn’t listen to my parents…..

Christy spent what felt like centuries helping us search for our first home but with no success finding something within our budget (2006 was a terrible year to buy). She then proposed a different solution, buy land and build. It was perfect!! We found land and a builder in just a few days. I felt terrible as her commission on the land was not nearly enough payment for the work she had done for us. I knew someday I would pay her back or pay it forward somehow.

Fast forward 15 years to 2021 (ya great time to buy a house, lol) and it was time to sell that home we built and buy something bigger for the growing family and possibly get out of the decade-long upside-down purchase from 2006. We decided to do some searching on our own first in hopes to not waste Christy’s time again. During our search on our own we, of course, had to work with a few other realtors to line up viewings or answer some simple questions and It came very clear very quickly what it was like dealing with other realtors, even some of the highest recommended ones. Their services didn’t even come close to Christy’s caliber. We decided to call Christy and wouldn’t you know we had a viewing of our home were in today within a week. 2021 was a strange year for buying, houses were selling for WAY over asking and the house we were looking at was at the top of our budget. Well, thanks to Christy’s out-of-the-box thinking she was able to put a creative offer in for us that not only got us the house but not a dime over asking price (I won’t give out her secret on here).

After closing on the new home and moving into the new one she listed our old house and it was sold in minutes, for well over what we paid in 2006.

Needless to say, if I or anyone I know ever thinks about buying or selling a property, I make sure they know Christy’s number.

Congratulations to me for picking the best Agent to sell our property at 870 Old Birch St. in Lino Lakes. We have recently had the experience of buying a home in the NE metro area. Upon a recommendation from a co-worker, we chose the Joyer Agency as our real estate agent. Other than the house that we ended up with, it was the best decision that we have possible could have made.
