When do you want to meet?

There had been a whirlwind of activity on my listing; while following up on inquiries, a prospective client hesitantly asked me if I would meet him to see the property. He explained that he had cash and was eager to buy now, but no one was returning his calls or willing to meet with him. I cheerfully responded, “When do you want to meet?”

Only after meeting with him, showing him multiple properties, and completing the home-buying process with him did it dawn on me why he was having such difficulty finding representation. This interaction occurred shortly after 9/11, and his name was Abdul.
