The above infographic helps illustrate the shift buyers and sellers are feeling in the current real estate market.  Increasing interest rates have led to fewer qualified buyers.  Each 1% interest rate increase impacts a buyer’s buying power by 10%. Buyers simply cannot afford what they once could.  As we navigate this shift we see an increase in housing inventory; fluctuating prices and a return of adjustable-rate mortgages

The news is portraying the current real estate market with some “dusk” feelings. However, if we look at the market in the daylight, things are still quite appealing.

Sometimes, the saying it’s not what you know but who you know plays out in real estate, too. With the recent inventory shortage, even fully qualified buyers are having difficulty finding homes.

After 26 years in real estate, I reflect that it is so much more than selling a house… I am so blessed to be the person who helps others during their transitions… sometimes joyous, and sometimes heartbreaking.

I passed one of them on my 2nd try… and then it took me another 5 tries to pass the other! The last time I failed the test, my partner (Father), Jeff Joyer, took me out to lunch and reassured me that there would never be a time in my career when I couldn’t ask for help or search for the right answer.
